The Maine Green Independent Party has been in existence for over 40 years; longer than any other third party in the history of American politics.

As the strongest electoral arm of the Left, we are responsible for the progressive agenda. And we walk the talk; Greens hold at least 140 offices across the United States. Free from big, corporate money, Greens are singular in our ability to prioritize people, planet, and peace over profit. 

Our members have served in positions of leadership on presidential and US Senate campaigns. We are hyper-focused on refining our political line and have experience with all facets of organizing, from directing referendums to running candidates to organizing street actions. We operate in all spheres of influence; testifying at the State House, engaging in mutual aid, and building coalitions with socialist, communist, and worker organizations. 

We shy away from nothing. We are staunchly pro-Palestinian and anti-ICE. Besides fighting fascism and approaching our collective liberation through a global lens, our key issues in Maine include Wabanaki sovereignty, climate justice, harm reduction, LGBTQIA2SS+ issues, healthcare, housing, and democracy reform.
